Luna Moth Twig Ring

The luna moth, Actias luna, is an exquisite creature exclusive to North America, captivating all who encounter it. Its rarity in the wild has led some to believe in its mystical nature. Personally, I am like to embrace such beliefs as well. The name "luna" stems from the moon-like markings adorning its wings, serving as a deterrent to potential predators. Upon emerging from their leaf wrapped cocoon, these moths lack mouthparts and spend a mere week in their moth form. Frequently, you will encounter luna moths with slightly worn wings, for their sole purpose as moths is to seek a mate. Similarly, this particular luna moth bears wings that exhibit slight wear, a poignant reminder that even in moments of imperfection, there exists such beauty.

This one of a kind ring was entirely hand forged from scratch. There will be no others exactly like it. The sterling silver twig band was made to fit a size 8.25US. The moth was given details of solid 14k gold across the tops of her wings as well as her 4 wing spots.
