Every cat owner knows this moment. Before the chaos, before the inevitable, there is always the stretch. That magnificent full body preparation, front paws extended as far as they will go, bottom in the air, eyes half closed in a kind of blissful focus. It looks almost peaceful. It is not peaceful. It is a warm up.

This necklace captures that exact moment. The cat is mid stretch in front of a potted houseplant, fully committed to the process. Above them on two tiny shelves sit little books and vases, all positioned at exactly the height that makes them most interesting to a cat with nothing but time and zero respect for your belongings. Nothing up there is safe. The cat has already noticed everything.

The plant does not know what is about to happen. The books do not know either. Only you know. And you cannot do anything about it.

The Necklace

Every single element of this tiny scene was hand drawn and cut from sterling silver, arranged inside a round glass domed pendant with a beautiful beaded border that frames the whole scene like the most mischievous little portrait ever made. The glass cabochon keeps every tiny detail safely tucked inside and visible from every angle.

Below the pendant a gorgeous teardrop of Sonoran Gold turquoise dangles from a handmade sterling silver loop, its vivid green and golden tones echoing the color of all those beloved houseplants. Sonoran Gold turquoise is mined in Arizona and is known for its striking and complex color, rich greens threaded through with warm golden matrix. No two stones are alike. This one is extraordinary.

On the back of the pendant you will find Max, my maker's mark, because every piece that leaves my studio carries a little piece of him with it.
