Hand Carved Mushroom Studs

You have walked past a hundred of them without noticing. Small, unassuming, pushing up through moss and leaf litter overnight, easy to miss unless you are the kind of person who always looks down. These are for the people who always look down.

The Mushroom

What you see above ground is only ever the smallest part of the story. A mushroom is the fruiting body of a much larger organism, a fungus whose true form lives underground as mycelium, a thread-like network that can spread for acres, connecting trees and cycling nutrients through the soil in a system so essential that forest ecologists call it the wood wide web. The mushroom cap that catches your eye is simply the part built to release spores into the world. Everything else, the real work, happens out of sight.

The Earrings

Each mushroom is hand carved individually, so no two will ever come out quite the same. The domed cap sits hollow and delicate, dusted lightly with fine silver texture, while a small suggestion of mycelium threads out from the base, a quiet nod to the larger unseen network every mushroom belongs to. Every earring is made entirely from recycled sterling silver, about half an inch tall, small enough for daily wear and detailed enough to reward a closer look.

Made to Order

Each pair is made just for you, one mushroom at a time, which means every set is its own slightly different specimen. No two ever grow quite the same way, and that felt right to honor here too.

A Note from Tamara

I carve a lot of tiny mushrooms and I do not think I will ever get tired of it. There is something about their quiet, overlooked presence on the forest floor that I want to carry with me, so I made a version small enough to wear every single day. I hope these feel like a little bit of forest tucked behind your ear.

Shipping

Your mushrooms will be made to order just for you in my little studio in the New Hampshire woods. Please allow one to two weeks for them to be created. You will receive a tracking number by email so you can follow them on their journey to their new home.
