Bee-Fly and Bloodroot Flower Earrings

I love how fuzzy and cute dark‑edged bee flies are! I just can’t get over them. I should tell you something you might find less lovable: they’re parasitic. I know, I know! It’s a little squeamish to imagine them flinging eggs near solitary bee nests so the larvae hatch and feed on the young. Still, in a healthy ecosystem this doesn’t harm ground‑nesting bee populations. Did you know that bee flies are also excellent native plant pollinators? They feed on pollen, do not bite or sting, and are very gentle insects. After seeing a photo of a dark‑edged bee-fly visiting a bloodroot, I knew I had to create one for you.

This mismatched pair of earrings is made entirely of sterling silver and is one of a kind. There isn’t another pair like them anywhere. Do you like when people ask about your favorite insect so you can go on and on about how cool it is? These are probably the earrings for you then!

The bloodroot and bee-fly earrings can be worn two ways: wear just the flower stud on its own, or slide the bloodflower leaves and bee-fly onto the back of each earring post to wear them as dangles. Each earring is about 2.75 inches long.

These bloodroot and bee-fly dangle earrings are already finished and ready to be mailed off to you. They will be packaged up safely and in a gift box within 3-5 business days.

A pair of sterling silver earrings featuring bloodroot flowers. One of the earrings has a hand carved bee fly on the leaf. They are shown on a piece of white birch bark.
