Two tiny monstera leaves, each one smaller than your thumbnail, each one with every vein and every fenestration exactly right. You will put them on and someone will lean in to look closer and then look closer again and then ask where you got them. This happens every time.
The Monstera
Monstera deliciosa is native to the tropical rainforests of southern Mexico and Central America, where it grows as an epiphyte, climbing trees and reaching toward the canopy with leaves that can grow to nearly three feet across in the wild. Young plants produce small whole heart-shaped leaves with no fenestrations at all. As the plant matures and establishes itself the leaves begin to develop their characteristic splits and holes, each new leaf more complex and more fenestrated than the last.
Nobody entirely agrees on why monstera leaves develop their fenestrations. The leading theories include allowing wind to pass through without tearing, enabling light to reach the lower leaves growing in the shade of the canopy, and helping rainwater reach the roots below. Whatever the reason the result is one of the most distinctive and beloved leaf shapes in the plant world, immediately recognizable and endlessly reproduced in art and design.
The holes are not damage. They are experience. They are what happens when something is given enough time and light and care to become fully itself. These earrings carry that same energy at a very small scale.
The Piece
A real leaf was used to create each monstera stud's pattern making them one of a kind. The characteristic fenestrations are pierced through by hand, every hole and split cut individually at this tiny scale. The whole leaf is twisted slightly the way monstera leaves naturally angle themselves toward the light, and a small coiled stem at the top finishes each one with that characteristic unfurling scroll of new monstera growth. The surface is deeply oxidized so every detail reads clearly even at this size.
They are approximately 0.75 inches tall with their stems, on sterling silver posts and backs, light enough to wear every single day and detailed enough to make someone stop and look twice.
Every pair is made to order just for you from recycled sterling silver. Because each one is made by hand no two will ever be exactly alike, just as no two monstera leaves are ever exactly alike in nature.
There is also a matching necklace and dangle earrings available in the shop if you would like to build a full set.

A Note from Tamara
Each of these tiny leaves was made by pressing a real leaf into the silver to create that beautiful organic vein pattern you can see across the surface. The texture it leaves behind reads exactly like one, all that fine detail and depth that you only get from pressing something real into the metal rather than trying to carve it by hand. Every pair carries a permanent record of an actual leaf that once existed. I find that deeply satisfying for a piece of jewelry that is meant to celebrate a living plant. I hope whoever wears these feels that same connection to the real and growing world every time they put them on.
