Stinking water plume agate. That is what this stone is called. I know, I know, not very sweet but that is why I created it into a scene with this adorable little handcarved spider on her cherry blossom tree. I often try to make little animals that many people stick their noses up at. I want to make them come across as sweet, approachable, and darling because they are! Spiders are so often, sadly, misunderstood and my hope is that some of my jewelry pieces help to change that. I cannot imagine that anyone could wear this necklace without it being seen. It is so sweet and I hope that others feel that way as well.
This little 8-legged lady has tiny fangs, spinnerets, and joined little knees. She is looking down at her stone and mostly hidden among the tree branches and tiny 3 dimensional cherry blossoms. The branches are craggy and twisted while holding this entire piece together. It is connected to a sterling silver chain and hangs about 22 inches. The pendant itself is 3 inches across and 2 inches tall. This entire pendant was made from recycled sterling silver sheet that I carved and shaped from molten metal. The spider and flowers were not cast, but instead carved and shaped by my tiny tools and hands. This is a one of a kind piece.
All of my pieces come to you in a sweetly decorated gift box making them perfect for gift giving, or as a nice surprise for yourself.
